Upcoming Pennsylvania Electric Generation Power Supplier Switch for PECO Eenergy Service in the West Chester & surrounding areas! Selecting a electric supplier choice for your home or rental investment units.
As a former energy engineer for Philadelphia Electric Company (PECO), I would like to provide you with some information that may help you with selecting your new electric generation supplier starting January 1, 2011. See below information.
If you are looking to shop for your electric generation supplier with the upcoming Electric Deregulation there is 2 types of electric rates for residential supply. The first is the RS - Regular Residential Service Rate and the second is RH - Residential Heating Service Rate if you have electric heat or heat pump. Check your bill to see which service rate you have for your home or investment property. Presently you will see there is only supplier pricing for the RS - Regular Residential Service Rate.
If you have the RS - Regular Residential Service Rate look at your last 12 months of bills for your monthly cost for the generation service from PECO. Then take each month of your KWh (kilowatt hours) usage to plug into the pricing calculator to determine your monthly costs compared to what they show for the PECO pricing to determine your savings for each supplier. You have options of a "Fixed Rate Pricing" or a "Variable Rate Pricing". if you like to know what your paying for electricity, then you may elect go with the Fixed Rate Pricing. I see some of the best pricing for Fixed Rate Electric Supplier Pricing is if you elect to go with the supplier online sign-up for service. Some of the suppliers are charging a "Cancellation Fee Penalty" or will charge you a "Upfront Fee" to be part of there supply. Click on the additional information to see if they are charging the "Cancellation Fee Penalty" or a "Upfront Fee" before you select the generation supplier. You may elect not to select a supplier with a cancellation fee or upfront fee.
For Variable Rate Pricing you should also click on the additional information or call them to get a better understanding of the variable pricing option with their company.
For the RH - Residential Heating Service Rate there are currently no competitive offers available.
Any information you receive you can cross check to see if the company is on the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) Power Switch website.
Good luck with your choice. I hope this information is helpful & you save money. Please pass my blog article to your family & friends. If you have any questions, call me at 484-459-8007.
